"By us for us"! TAVA is 100% volunteer and member led, by a Leadership Team - voted in and informed by our members - who support TAVA's mission. The Leadership Team also supports Ad Hoc Committees. We thank our past and current Leadership Team and Ad Hoc Committee members! Note: Our Leadership Team is officially voted in during our membership meetings, at our annual June AGM, or during the last month of our fiscal year, where we officially welcome our new Leadership Team slate for the new TAVA Membership fiscal year (Oct 1 through to Sept 30).  Email us at to apply for an available role! 


  1. HISTORICAL CHAIR: Supports and helps transition new TAVA President
  2. PRESENT CHAIR (AVAILABLE ROLE)Partners with Executives to support TAVA's mission
  3. EMERGING CHAIR (AVAILABLE ROLE): In training for President role, and supports President 
  4. MEMBERSHIP, AWARDS & BURSARY CHAIR : Oversees member support, maintenance & growth
  5. MEMBERSHIP, AWARDS & BURSARY CHAIR : Oversees Bursary and Innovation awards 
  6. PROGRAM CO-CHAIR(S)(AVAILABLE ROLE): Supports TAVA's workshop/member development goals 
  7. ADMINISTRATIVE CHAIR: Provides admin and minute taking support to Executive
  8. DIGITAL CO-CHAIR(S)(AVAILABLE ROLE): Member communication
  9. TREASURER : Supports President with managing TAVA's finances  
  10. DIGITAL CO-CHAIR(S) (AVAILABLE ROLE): Updating website content and layout, and member support
  11. INCLUSION CHAIR:  (AVAILABLE ROLE): Supporting TAVA with ensuring DEI conversations are at the forefront of member support, and programming. 
  12. ADHOC COMMITTEE ROLES: Serve as needed, based on current events or work being supported by Leadership Team i.e. serve as a Give & Get workshop facilitator for one of our workshops, or sit one of our current project working groups (i.e. like our DEI Working Group, Conference Committee, etc.)

    Important to note about Committee roles:

    • Each Leadership Team  role is a two year term, based on TAVA's fiscal year (Oct 1 through to Sept 30).
    • New Leadership Team members are elected by the membership at our Membership Meetings. 
    • The Emerging Chair's role is a progressive role, ideally with the incumbent serving one year as Emerging Chair, one year as Present Chair, and finally one year as Historical Chair (for a total of 3 years of volunteer service). Please see the position descriptions above for more information.
    • Applicants must be a current TAVA member (i.e. membership fee paid for current membership year).
