Our January Membership Meeting is hosted in partnership with Volunteer Toronto.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

As volunteer management professionals you are well aware of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, but is there more you could be doing to create inclusive spaces for volunteers with physical and mental disabilities? The short answer is yes! This session will help increase your understanding of how to provide more welcoming and accessible experiences at every stage in the volunteer management cycle.

Through interactive reflection activities and practical resources, you’ll gain insights into:

  • A national organization’s pandemic learnings and approach to disability inclusion
  • The Principles of Accessibility (Dignity, Independence, Integration & Equality of Opportunity) and why they matter
  • Barriers that may be preventing people with visible and invisible disabilities from participating as volunteers
  • How to determine your volunteer program needs related to disability inclusion and where to find help

ADDED PERKS!
