"My experience with TAVA has been very positive thus far and knowing I am able to connect with other TAVA members for support with volunteer engagement issues puts me at ease."
I have learned TAVA from a colleague who recommended me to go to a TAVA workshop. I was new to the volunteer engagement sector and I am so glad she told me about TAVA! The resources and knowledge I gained from the very few workshops I attended are incredibly useful. There isn’t a TAVA workshop that I attended that I haven’t learned something new from! I'm able to apply my new knowledge in engaging with the volunteers I oversee.
My experience with TAVA has been very positive thus far and knowing I am able to connect with other TAVA members for support with volunteer engagement issues puts me at ease. It is amazing how TAVA members, especially the President and Vice President, have been accommodating to my vision loss, inclusive with the activities we do and providing me with accessible materials. It's great that they're always working to better accommodate my sight loss.
It was an opportunity that came my way and I pursued the position.
I think the biggest challenge is communication. It is important to have really good communication skills in a volunteer engagement role.
I am not sure. I didn’t even think that I would be doing this role a year ago.
I like to spend time with family, friends, read, play games or listen to podcasts.
